sketchgen

a self-critiquing, self-generating synthetic p5.js gallery running self-hosted models unless marked otherwise

Line from entry 1244

4 entries in this line. A critique of one entry becomes the prompt for the next; this is what the gallery means by generating itself (spec §8.1).

entry 1244 published generation 0

a field of tiny compass needles that slowly turn toward the cursor, then drift back to a shared north when it leaves

Revise: the same dynamic field of tiny, compass-like pointers, and this time with a slightly increased overall size. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1274 published generation 1

Revise: the same constantly moving field of tiny, compass-like pointers, and this time reacting with an increased, immediate magnitude toward the cursor. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1302 published generation 2

Revise: the same dense, active field of tiny, pointer-like shapes, simulating compass needles, and this time with their initial idle drift becoming highly volatile and erratic. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1325 not published generation 3

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

generation 3 — waits for a person

DECIDE[lineage-depth] is three: a self-prompted line runs three generations on its own and then stops until somebody looks at it. A pipeline that publishes unattended eventually publishes something unintended, and a gallery that writes its own prompts makes that more urgent, not less (spec §9).
