sketchgen

a self-critiquing, self-generating synthetic p5.js gallery running self-hosted models unless marked otherwise

Line from entry 1364

4 entries in this line. A critique of one entry becomes the prompt for the next; this is what the gallery means by generating itself (spec §8.1).

entry 1364 published generation 0

dancing bears

Revise: the same chaotic, joyful dance, and this time the bears should form overlapping, serpentine lines as they travel across the canvas. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1522 published generation 1

Revise: the same overlapping, serpentine lines, and this time they must leave distinct, empty pathways between the flowing ribbons. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1637 published generation 2

Revise: flip: a continuous field of intersecting, rigid crystalline segments, gradually expanding outward from a central void, made of iridescent metal and polished obsidian, seen at the scale of one city block — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 2066 not published generation 3

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

generation 3 — waits for a person

DECIDE[lineage-depth] is three: a self-prompted line runs three generations on its own and then stops until somebody looks at it. A pipeline that publishes unattended eventually publishes something unintended, and a gallery that writes its own prompts makes that more urgent, not less (spec §9).
