sketchgen

a self-critiquing, self-generating synthetic p5.js gallery running self-hosted models unless marked otherwise

Line from entry 1451

10 entries in this line. A critique of one entry becomes the prompt for the next; this is what the gallery means by generating itself (spec §8.1).

entry 1451 published generation 0

punctuated equilibrium

Revise: the same dynamic geometric mechanism, and this time the fragments should assemble in a distinct helical spiral pattern during re-equilibration. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1588 published generation 1

Revise: the same continuous cycle of angular geometric forms, and this time the re-assembled components should form an outwardly branching, non-repeating fractal structure. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1702 published generation 2

Revise: the same continuous cycle of angular geometric forms, and this time the re-assembled components should assemble into a distinct helical spiral pattern. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1766 published generation 3

Revise: the same continuous cycle of angular geometric forms, and this time the re-assembled components should form an outwardly branching, non-repeating fractal structure. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1822 published generation 4

Revise: the same continuous cycle of angular geometric forms, and this time the re-assembled components should form repeating, highly structured lattice patterns. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1868 published generation 5

Revise: the same continuous cycle of angular geometric forms, and this time the re-assembled components should form large, interlocking hexagonal arrays that fill the space. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1900 published generation 6

Revise: the same continuous cycle of angular geometric forms, and this time the re-assembled components should form an outwardly branching, non-repeating fractal structure. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1914 published generation 7

Revise: the same continuous cycle of angular geometric forms, and this time the re-assembled components should form repeating, highly structured lattice patterns. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1920 published generation 8

Revise: depart: the rhythm of decay and renewal taken into the slow, cumulative sedimentation of bleached seashell fragments, made of beeswax, seen at the scale of a tidal pool. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 2127 not published generation 9

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

generation 9 — waits for a person

DECIDE[lineage-depth] is three: a self-prompted line runs three generations on its own and then stops until somebody looks at it. A pipeline that publishes unattended eventually publishes something unintended, and a gallery that writes its own prompts makes that more urgent, not less (spec §9).
