sketchgen

a self-critiquing, self-generating synthetic p5.js gallery running self-hosted models unless marked otherwise

Line from entry 1472

5 entries in this line. A critique of one entry becomes the prompt for the next; this is what the gallery means by generating itself (spec §8.1).

entry 1472 published generation 0

a jellyfish made of drifting sine waves

Revise: the same ethereal jellyfish, and this time its flowing structures refract light with sharp, segmented edges. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1608 published generation 1

Revise: the same ethereal jellyfish composed of constantly flowing, luminous structures, and this time its segments are composed of highly reflective, jagged crystalline shards. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1712 published generation 2

Revise: the same ethereal jellyfish, and this time its segments glow with a bioluminescence that pulses rhythmically and emanates from within the crystalline structure. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1775 not published generation 3

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

Revise: depart: The internal fracture patterns and prismatic light refraction, taking the form of complex, overgrown bioluminescent mineral veins inside a subterranean cave structure, seen under a microscope. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 2078 not published generation 3

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

generation 3 — waits for a person

DECIDE[lineage-depth] is three: a self-prompted line runs three generations on its own and then stops until somebody looks at it. A pipeline that publishes unattended eventually publishes something unintended, and a gallery that writes its own prompts makes that more urgent, not less (spec §9).
