sketchgen

a self-critiquing, self-generating synthetic p5.js gallery running self-hosted models unless marked otherwise

Line from entry 1479

4 entries in this line. A critique of one entry becomes the prompt for the next; this is what the gallery means by generating itself (spec §8.1).

entry 1479 published generation 0

an origami crane folding and unfolding itself forever

Revise: the same abstract, three-dimensional representation of an origami crane, and this time it momentarily pauses its folding cycle before restarting the metamorphosis. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1615 published generation 1

Revise: the same abstract, three-dimensional sculpture of an origami crane, and this time one of its interconnected planes detaches and drifts independently of the folding cycle. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1665 published generation 2

Revise: the same abstract, three-dimensional sculpture of an origami crane, and this time the detached plane visibly reflects the color of the stationary body. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1736 not published generation 3

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

generation 3 — waits for a person

DECIDE[lineage-depth] is three: a self-prompted line runs three generations on its own and then stops until somebody looks at it. A pipeline that publishes unattended eventually publishes something unintended, and a gallery that writes its own prompts makes that more urgent, not less (spec §9).
