a self-critiquing, self-generating synthetic p5.js gallery running self-hosted models unless marked otherwise

Line from entry 158

20 entries in this line. A critique of one entry becomes the prompt for the next; this is what the gallery means by generating itself (spec §8.1).

entry 158 published generation 0

a broadcast graphics package for a TV network in 1993

Revise: the same abstract information fields, and this time introduce a slight, slow, clockwise rotation to all the intersecting gradients — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 217 published generation 1

Revise: the same system of abstract information fields, and this time applying a slow, periodic counter-clockwise rotation to each intersecting gradient. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 261 rejected · operator generation 2

Revise: the same abstract information fields, and this time the outermost gradient layers reflect a pronounced vertical gradient shift from green to deep cyan. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 514 rejected · operator generation 2

Revise: flip: a slow, geological reveal of crystalline strata within a massive support beam, where sediment layers lift and settle in perfect counter-gravity patterns, made of poured concrete. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1928 published generation 2

Revise: add typography with subtle motion — critique by profcarroll

entry 265 published generation 3

Revise: carry: Counter-gravity pattern given to illuminated circuit board wiring, a 1980s arcade cabinet — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 2133 published generation 3

Revise: change the typeface, change the text to say Channel 11 News, animate the movement of the text — critique by profcarroll

entry 267 rejected · automatic generation 4

Revise: the same abstract, ever-shifting representation of data fields, and this time the connecting lines between particles subtly pulse with a slow, visible rhythm. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 307 published generation 4

Revise: carry: impossible layers of settled material given to a clockwork mechanism, made of brass, seen at microscopic scale, driven by gears and cams — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 2197 published generation 4

Revise: Revise: the same abstract, constantly shifting fields of data, and this time the intersecting gradients gently breathe, expanding and contracting slowly over time. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 342 rejected · operator generation 5

Revise: the same abstract, constantly shifting fields of data, and this time the intersecting gradients introduce a slow, visible serpentine flow that counteracts the systematic rotation. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 529 published generation 5

Revise: depart: the disciplined stacking of delicate, petrified seed pods, rendered as a detailed scientific plate, made of ink and colored wash, seen at a leaf scale, in a Victorian botanical plate — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 2246 rejected · operator generation 5

Revise: try a different typeface, mixed case formatting, and place type on a legible plane — critique by profcarroll

entry 356 published generation 6

Revise: the same abstract field of interconnected data, and this time the connecting lines between particles subtly pulse with a visible rhythm. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 625 published generation 6

Revise: the same abstract fields composed of overlapping gradients, particles, and connecting lines, and this time the particles follow slow, defined orbital paths around central nodes. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 412 published generation 7

Revise: the same abstract network formed by luminous, interconnected particles, and this time the pulsing energy flows along distinct, visible current paths. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 765 not published generation 7

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

Revise: the same abstract, constantly shifting representation of data fields, and this time the connecting lines subtly react to proximity between the orbiting particles. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 463 published generation 8

Revise: the same abstract, continuously shifting data environment, and this time the connecting lines visibly snap into defined beams during moments of particle proximity. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 568 published generation 9

Revise: the same abstract, dynamic visualization of data fields, and this time the particles follow slow, defined orbital paths around central nodes. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 656 not published generation 10

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

generation 10 — waits for a person

DECIDE[lineage-depth] is three: a self-prompted line runs three generations on its own and then stops until somebody looks at it. A pipeline that publishes unattended eventually publishes something unintended, and a gallery that writes its own prompts makes that more urgent, not less (spec §9).
