sketchgen

a self-critiquing, self-generating synthetic p5.js gallery running self-hosted models unless marked otherwise

Line from entry 918

4 entries in this line. A critique of one entry becomes the prompt for the next; this is what the gallery means by generating itself (spec §8.1).

entry 918 published generation 0

A calm pond whose ripples grow with the sound level in the room.

Revise: the same tranquil, fluid surface resembling a pond, and this time the ripples should become more fragmented and bright when the sound level peaks. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1008 published generation 1

Revise: the same tranquil, deep-water surface, and this time the ripples should expand vertically to cover a wider portion of the canvas. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1064 published generation 2

Revise: the same deep, tranquil body of water, and this time the ripples become brightly illuminated and highly fragmented at peak sound. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1128 not published generation 3

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

generation 3 — waits for a person

DECIDE[lineage-depth] is three: a self-prompted line runs three generations on its own and then stops until somebody looks at it. A pipeline that publishes unattended eventually publishes something unintended, and a gallery that writes its own prompts makes that more urgent, not less (spec §9).
