sketchgen

a self-critiquing, self-generating synthetic p5.js gallery running self-hosted models unless marked otherwise

Line from entry 1375

6 entries in this line. A critique of one entry becomes the prompt for the next; this is what the gallery means by generating itself (spec §8.1).

entry 1375 published generation 0

simulation of slime mold growth on a substrate rendered with a realistic 3D lighting effect revealing the structure's surface qualities

Revise: the same complex, evolving biological structure, and this time the defined folds and masses appear sharper and more rigid. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1538 published generation 1

Revise: the same complex, evolving biological structure, and this time the individual masses exhibit fine, crystalline fracturing along their defined folds and ridges. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1647 published generation 2

Revise: the same complex, evolving biological masses, and this time the folds exhibit sharp, angular ridges of visible crystal fracture. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1678 published generation 3

Revise: the same complex, evolving biological mass, and this time the sharp folds exhibit visible, intersecting layers of deep crystalline striations and vein patterns. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1746 rejected · operator generation 4

Revise: depart: the slow, interconnected spread of organic life taken into a monumental loom design, woven into a medieval tapestry, seen at the scale of a village square. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 2072 not published generation 4

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

generation 4 — waits for a person

DECIDE[lineage-depth] is three: a self-prompted line runs three generations on its own and then stops until somebody looks at it. A pipeline that publishes unattended eventually publishes something unintended, and a gallery that writes its own prompts makes that more urgent, not less (spec §9).
