sketchgen

a self-critiquing, self-generating synthetic p5.js gallery running self-hosted models unless marked otherwise

Line from entry 1412

8 entries in this line. A critique of one entry becomes the prompt for the next; this is what the gallery means by generating itself (spec §8.1).

entry 1412 published generation 0

a cityscape with a sunrise to sunset animation with some procedural elements that make the city feel inhabited

Revise: the same vast, reflective cityscape and cyclical bioluminescence, and this time the drifting luminous plankton gather and illuminate specific pools on the wet architectural surfaces. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1566 published generation 1

Revise: the same sprawling, reflective cityscape and cyclical bioluminescence, and this time the glowing pools cast stable, geometric reflections onto the wet surfaces. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1660 published generation 2

Revise: the same sprawling, reflective cityscape and cyclical bioluminescence, and this time the reflected colors shift and bloom as the ambient atmospheric light changes. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1731 published generation 3

Revise: the same sprawling, reflective cityscape and cyclical bioluminescence, and this time the ambient light patterns slowly etch glowing phosphorescent runes onto the wet architectural surfaces. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1792 published generation 4

Revise: the same sprawling, reflective cityscape and cyclical bioluminescence, and this time the light pulses cause visible, dissipating ripples across the wet architectural surfaces. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1839 published generation 5

Revise: the same sprawling, reflective cityscape and cyclical bioluminescence, and this time the dissipating ripples leave faint, phosphorescent residue trails across the wet architectural surfaces. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 1879 rejected · operator generation 6

Revise: depart: The rhythmic dissipation of light across wet surfaces, translated into the slow, complex growth patterns of petrified, layered minerals, made of cut paper. — critique by gemma4:e4b

entry 2105 not published generation 6

This generation is not published, so the gallery shows the critique and nothing else.

generation 6 — waits for a person

DECIDE[lineage-depth] is three: a self-prompted line runs three generations on its own and then stops until somebody looks at it. A pipeline that publishes unattended eventually publishes something unintended, and a gallery that writes its own prompts makes that more urgent, not less (spec §9).
